As I stated in my About section, I ❤ gold.
This is a recent (within the last year or so) enamoration that has since left my silver affection collecting dust –literally– in my jewelry box. However, a new silvery light shines in my future! I was browsing for gifting purposing but found, not one, but two bracelets that are charming their way into my growing jewelry collection.
Brighton Collectibles designed some wrist candy that I can’t get enough of! I’m sure it helps that both inspirations happen to be my favorite prints but I’m really excited about their silver (with rhinestones of course) dangerously sexy wrist pets!
The gator one caught my eye instantly while I was scrolling through and the snake was a very close second. The bracelets are surprisingly affordable too. (Gator: $58, Snake: $54) Certainly beats having to pay for an alligator tank!
Known fact about me: I am a J.Crew-aholic. I’ve worked with the company just over 4 years, in 4 different stores, doing visuals. (Id est dressing mannequins, changing uppers and creating their awesomely original window displays.)
In a free moment I enjoy taking a gander at their “Looks we Love” section on the website. I always learn new twists on how to update my look. Something so simple as tying your button up instead of tucking it in or sexifying up the tomboy look with a smashing heel in a bright pop of color.
Take a moment to browse their looks. It can be a bit much if you’re not used to the often-times color contrasting combos, pops of neon or prints mixed with prints mixed with prints BUT, hopefully you’ll grow to appreciate the uniqueness of the lifestyle they inspire almost as much as I do!
… there was a 25 year young girl with big, stylish and expensive dreams.
Regarding the “expensive dreams” bit: I was inspired by this sexy image
and wrote the following Valentine’s Day-ish poem:
Ducati’s are red,
Ferrari’s are too.
I’d like one of each
and a house in Malibu.
I was proud of my apparent snooty and snobbish poetry jam so I thought I’d share.
Where were we? Oh yes, the beginning. Carry on.
I read an article on a collaboration between Manhattan Beachwear Inc and Sperry Top-Sider about the swimwear line that is to be launched for Spring 13. I was so excited and wanted to rave about it when I realized, “the people on Facebook wouldn’t quite get this and Twitter doesn’t have enough characters.”
So, I decided to add another fashion blog to the world wide web.
Why is this one special? Because it’s mine 🙂 A lot of the blogs out there cut down and build up trends, fads and everything popular. Even with my involvement in the Fashion Industry –I’m a technical designer for a menswear company– I find myself enjoying pieces because they’re inspiring to me and not simply because it was in Bazaar (my current ‘zine of choice).
Hopefully you too will enjoy my excitement over boat-people swimsuit lines, Rugby’s Spring collection and the fact that Pantone made 2012’s color of the year a shade of orange (Tangerine Tango 17-1463, note to self: find lipstick in similar shade).
