The fashion world sadly lost another style and design icon when L’Wren Scott was found in her Chelsea apartment this Monday. Instead of covering the who/what/why/how, let’s remember this incredible designer for her innate attention to detail & fit and her unparalleled ability to make women look & feel their most feminine.
Anna Wintour remembers her beautifully. “In person, L’Wren was always unbelievably generous, gracious, kind and so much fun… Her old-world American manners and charm were from another time, but her sensibility was always fiercely modern. We will all miss her.”
Here are some of my favorite looks. I adore them for their silhouette, femininity and the sheer notion that the dresses are so well tailored & designed that the actress wears the dress, not the other way around.
The Journey section of her website perfectly summarizes L’Wren’s philosophy. Her’s is one that I hold dear to my heart when designing for women. I will think of her every time I nip in a dart 1/8″ or hand-stitch my hem for the fourth time.
L’Wren Scott embodies a philosophy of timeless style and modern classics that can be worn from day to night… Famed for their sexy silhouettes, L’Wren Scott’s pieces are both intricate and unique in their construction, using her experience of dressing all kinds of body types in order to sculpt and flatter the body. These collections are for the customer who appreciates real luxury, beautiful fabrics and the perfect detail.
May your sky-high soul rest in the most luxurious of peace’s.
