Not-so-short and sweet: I’m a Fashion/Technical/Graphic/Print Designer (currently) in Seattle, Washington. Per the title of the blog, I have recently realized that my mom had it right in the 80’s. All that bottle blonde hair, bright-and-constantly-reapplied lipstick and gold everything jewelry surely makes a woman feel more luxurious and, well, hot! I have since taken Mom’s advice but tweaked it for myself. I don’t use a peroxide, I see a professional for my locks (thank God for Lindsay @ Hazel Salon), I use glosses more often than lipstick since I don’t have the patience for reapplication and my gold accents are sized down to simple. The stripes are simply a result of my clean and classic aesthetic. That, and the fact that I believe the nautical look will always be in style. I don’t know if I could sound anymore cliche but, I truly do have a passion for fashion: apparel, accessories and, most importantly, style. Monsieur YSL said it best.

“Fashions fade, style is eternal.” -Yves Saint Laurent

Although, Miss Coco Chanel made a fabulous point.

“The best color in the whole world, is the one that looks good, on you!” -Coco Chanel

These two quotes are distinctly applicable to my view of fashion. Fashion and style are personal. The way you present yourself to the world should explain who you are and not what magazine you read or fad you follow. Be true to yourself and style and success will inevitably follow.
